Ice storm followed by heavy snow left the area without power for 4 days. The trees around the court house were all heavily damaged and eventually cut down.

Hawthorne Berry

Hawthorne (crataegus oxycantha) is a common deciduous tree or shrub growing primarily in North America. A member of the family Rosaceae, hawthorne’s thorny branches sport beautiful pink or white flowers in the spring (hawthorne is also called “mayflower” or “maybush”) which develop into small apple-like fruit that ripens bright red in the fall.
