American Herring Gull

The American Herring Gull is part of a complex of large, white-headed gulls that breed across the northern hemisphere. Only one form, the American Herring Gull, is common in North America, but several others, such as the Vega Gull and the European Herring Gull, may be rare visitors.

Untitled

The Colorado National Monument was the first stop on my trip out West in 2006. The views were indescribable, especially for someone that grew up in the flat lands of Ohio. Most of my time here was just sitting on the edges and staring for miles into nature’s beauty.

Monument Valley

Still going through the photos from last year’s trips. Monument Valley just before sunset. Everybody needs to visit here, takes your breath away.

St. Paul's Cathedral

St. Paul’s Cathedral in Münster, Germany was built in the 13th century and was the city’s first cathedral. This is the interior of the Cathedral. An exterior shot can be seen <a href=”https://eleventwentysix.com/index.php?showimage=113″>here</a>. Really like the lighting and mood of this photo.

Slowhand

Eric Clapton’s Fender Stratocaster at Chicago’s Hard Rock Cafe. Although you can’t really distinguish the colors because of the red neon in the case, the guitar has a custom finish in white and gold with an airbrushed Snow Leopard.

Capitol Dome

US Capitol’s “wedding cake” cast-iron dome, three times the height of the original dome and 100 feet in diameter, completed in the 1850’s after the reconstruction of the building.

Bowing to the Sun

A pelican appears to be showing its respect to the Sun near Hudson Beach, Florida on New Year’s Day.

House Finch

The only finch size bird with a red throat and breast. The Purple Finch is much redder. The House Finch was originally a bird of the southwestern US and Mexico. Released in New York in 1940, the House Finch is crowding out the native Purple Finch and has migrated west of the Mississippi River.

Happy Valentine's Day

Emilia mentioned she had never shoveled snow before. So as her loving <strike>boyfriend</strike> fiancé (as of 2/15/2007) I made her wish come true on this, our first Valentine’s Day. She did very well, although much supervision was needed, from inside the house. Please note her color coordinated outfit with the snow shovel. I love her!

Cold morning

Twisted limbs with snow glistening in the cold morning Sun. This is below Hayden Falls as the water empties into the Scioto River in Columbus, OH.
