Unfortunately, the ice storm failed to stop before the damage was done to the area.
Hawthorne (crataegus oxycantha) is a common deciduous tree or shrub growing primarily in North America. A member of the family Rosaceae, hawthorne’s thorny branches sport beautiful pink or white flowers in the spring (hawthorne is also called “mayflower” or “maybush”) which develop into small apple-like fruit that ripens bright red in the fall.
The ice storm, prior to the snow storm which cut all power to the area.
Another photo of the old bench, this time with much more snow.
Amazing colors that Mother Nature can provide.
